Nicki hit and killed a birdie on the way home from dinner................there was a poof of feathers and everything.......
Yesterday I got an email from my friend Debbie complete with baseball tickets for the first repliers.......guess what, it pays to be checking your email while your class is working. It was Twoonie Tuesday, these were free, but I think we are going to become Twoonie Regulars!!! I forgot how fun watching a baseball game is, it has it's traditions and a bit of cheese: players songs, seeing yourself on the JUMBOTRON (maybe next time) and the seventh inning stretch (my favourite). First stop Shoppers to pick up some snackeroos:juicy Gummy Fruits, m&ms and Sour Wine Gums.....YUMMERS!!!!! We know how to pick the snacks!
Earlier this evening I was reading my friends blog and she was recounting her week and I realized I'm a dork (don't worry this is not a new realization, more of a reaffirmation). On Thursday I went, as usual, to play Scrabble with some friends at a local bar. While playing Scrabble I notice a young woman who looked vaguely familiar; I was fairly sure she was either someone I went to school with or worked with at the pool, in Vancouver, but I couldn't place her. Through stealthy ease-dropping I found out her name and it seem right and made me more sure that I knew her. I became more and more confident that I had worked with her, if only for a summer. I continued to occasionally glance over hoping to catch her eye, possibly she'd recognize me and say hello. Although, I did get the feeling/remembered that she was not necessarily someone I would want to say hi to, so I wasn't going to be the one to recognize her. Despite this, I did take off my glasses (I didn't have them when I was working at the pool) to see if she would recognize me. The night drew to a close, the games ended and to my growing relief, she still had not said hello. We left the bar and made our way to our homes, I gave it maybe a second or two more thought and forgot about it, thankful I didn't have to talk to her. I remembered her as being some superior athletic type, the kind who clings to high school the way wet toilet paper clings to the ceiling of a high school washroom. I really didn't think anything of it until I was reading my friends blog this evening. During me friends recount of Thursday evening she mentioned that a well known Canadian actress, Sarah Polly, had been in the bar. Of course my first though was I wonder if that woman that I knew, Sarah, had been with Sarah Polly; it's a rather small bar. So not totally remembering what Miss Polly looks like (I know, I should know these things) I IMDB-ed her and guess what............that woman that I was vaguely creepily staring at all night was someone whom I had neither gone to high school with nor worked with, it was in fact the well known Canadian actress Sarah Polly.
