Take me out to the ball game!!!
Yesterday I got an email from my friend Debbie complete with baseball tickets for the first repliers.......guess what, it pays to be checking your email while your class is working. It was Twoonie Tuesday, these were free, but I think we are going to become Twoonie Regulars!!! I forgot how fun watching a baseball game is, it has it's traditions and a bit of cheese: players songs, seeing yourself on the JUMBOTRON (maybe next time) and the seventh inning stretch (my favourite). First stop Shoppers to pick up some snackeroos:juicy Gummy Fruits, m&ms and Sour Wine Gums.....YUMMERS!!!!! We know how to pick the snacks!
Our seats were pretty good: with and without players

Edie did some knitting.......'cause ya gotta knit at a baseball game!! (I knew I forgot something...seriously, it's coming with next time)

Orioles Field, Jays to bat, 2 Out
Runner on 2nd and 3rd, batter not excellent average (.288) is purposely walked? Now the bases are loaded and another guy with a not so stellar average is up (.299). WHY DID THEY WALK THE FIRST GUY?!? It has been bugging me!!! It had a happy ending though we got 2 home off .299 and then another 2 off of Hinske (I think). I have to get up on my baseball talk to prepare for slo-pitch.....hahahaha!!!!
Anyway, I will end with a lovely picture, graciously taken by 17 year old heckler, of the GIRLS NIGHT AT THE GAME!

Next game May 9th again the A's!!!! I'm going to be on the JUMBOTRON baby!!!! (Having something painted on your bare chest seemed to work........it's good to have goals)
OH YEAH.......We WON!!!!!!! 7-3!!!! Go Jays Go!!!!

A lot of times with first base open and runners on 2nd and 3rd, teams will intentionally walk a guy to load the bases. This will set up an easier double play and a force play at home.
Although it's more common when a weaker hitter is due up next. And with two outs, there'd be no need for the double play.
I'm sure this has been the most scintillating comment ever.
