Take me out to the ball game!!!

Yesterday I got an email from my friend Debbie complete with baseball tickets for the first repliers.......guess what, it pays to be checking your email while your class is working. It was Twoonie Tuesday, these were free, but I think we are going to become Twoonie Regulars!!! I forgot how fun watching a baseball game is, it has it's traditions and a bit of cheese: players songs, seeing yourself on the JUMBOTRON (maybe next time) and the seventh inning stretch (my favourite). First stop Shoppers to pick up some snackeroos:juicy Gummy Fruits, m&ms and Sour Wine Gums.....YUMMERS!!!!! We know how to pick the snacks!
Our seats were pretty good: with and without players
The company, as usual, was great!

The food was adequately greasy, good and $$$$$ (sadly no beer, "family section")
You may notice the a member of the 17 year old heckling crew beside Edie......they ROCKED!!!!! 'cause ya gotta heckle at a baseball game!
Edie did some knitting.......'cause ya gotta knit at a baseball game!! (I knew I forgot something...seriously, it's coming with next time)These guys kill me, I really want their job.In case it's unclear it says KKK. This made it to the JUMBOTRON and needless to say Edie and Debbie were offended, I assured them it had something to do with baseball, because the last time I saw a game, I saw the same thing and was equally offended. So Debbie texted Jonathan and found out the each K stands for a batter the pitcher has struck out, we got 6 this game. Later on something confusing happened....I texted Jonathan for some clarification, thank you it was helpful, but I blew my theory out the window.......there must be someone out there who can explain this to me:
Orioles Field, Jays to bat, 2 Out
Runner on 2nd and 3rd, batter not excellent average (.288) is purposely walked? Now the bases are loaded and another guy with a not so stellar average is up (.299). WHY DID THEY WALK THE FIRST GUY?!? It has been bugging me!!! It had a happy ending though we got 2 home off .299 and then another 2 off of Hinske (I think). I have to get up on my baseball talk to prepare for slo-pitch.....hahahaha!!!!
Anyway, I will end with a lovely picture, graciously taken by 17 year old heckler, of the GIRLS NIGHT AT THE GAME!
Next game May 9th again the A's!!!! I'm going to be on the JUMBOTRON baby!!!! (Having something painted on your bare chest seemed to work........it's good to have goals)

OH YEAH.......We WON!!!!!!! 7-3!!!! Go Jays Go!!!!

I am a dork

Earlier this evening I was reading my friends blog and she was recounting her week and I realized I'm a dork (don't worry this is not a new realization, more of a reaffirmation). On Thursday I went, as usual, to play Scrabble with some friends at a local bar. While playing Scrabble I notice a young woman who looked vaguely familiar; I was fairly sure she was either someone I went to school with or worked with at the pool, in Vancouver, but I couldn't place her. Through stealthy ease-dropping I found out her name and it seem right and made me more sure that I knew her. I became more and more confident that I had worked with her, if only for a summer. I continued to occasionally glance over hoping to catch her eye, possibly she'd recognize me and say hello. Although, I did get the feeling/remembered that she was not necessarily someone I would want to say hi to, so I wasn't going to be the one to recognize her. Despite this, I did take off my glasses (I didn't have them when I was working at the pool) to see if she would recognize me. The night drew to a close, the games ended and to my growing relief, she still had not said hello. We left the bar and made our way to our homes, I gave it maybe a second or two more thought and forgot about it, thankful I didn't have to talk to her. I remembered her as being some superior athletic type, the kind who clings to high school the way wet toilet paper clings to the ceiling of a high school washroom. I really didn't think anything of it until I was reading my friends blog this evening. During me friends recount of Thursday evening she mentioned that a well known Canadian actress, Sarah Polly, had been in the bar. Of course my first though was I wonder if that woman that I knew, Sarah, had been with Sarah Polly; it's a rather small bar. So not totally remembering what Miss Polly looks like (I know, I should know these things) I IMDB-ed her and guess what............that woman that I was vaguely creepily staring at all night was someone whom I had neither gone to high school with nor worked with, it was in fact the well known Canadian actress Sarah Polly.
I AM A DORK!!!!!!!
Please feel free to point and laugh at me the next time you see me.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!

Tonight I went and saw Clap Your Hands Say Yeah; it was one of the better shows I've see recently. They stretched a 1/2 hour album to a little over an hour, played some new stuff and covered Neil Young's Helpless (really well). I think I need to work on my "buying off scalpers" script, I gave in too easily. I think the idea is to take back control of the situation, make it seem like it's their problem that they have to get ride of the tickets (poor them) and not that I need to buy them, beat them at their own pyschological game. After the show I went to Shake a Tail at Stone's Place. So I had 2, 2 Saturday nights in 1. Twas fun! My friend Agnes is home........yet another reason to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!!!! All in all one of the better nights was had.
Welcome home!!!!!!!!!

Random pictures and ducks

Oh the business!!!!!

I'm sorry poor little blog I have neglected you. I have been busy and I know that is no excuse for neglect, so I humbly apologize. I have been occupying my time with many diversions including Speed Skating and Kareoke.
Speed Skating: I have wanted to try this for many a year and I finally did it!!!!! I did figure skating as a kid but really not the most practical recreational adult sport. So, I arrived to what I was lead to believe were intro adult lessons (I'm sure we can all see where this is going) I've got my helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, shin pads, neck guard and my brand new spandex runners pants. I pick up my skates and start to get ready. I begin to notice the complete lack of adult peoples and the great abundance of 10 year olds. These are the general intro lessons, mostly populated by the 8-12 year old set.......and of course me!!!! HAHAHAHAHAAHHA!!!!! It was loads of fun!!!!!! I loved it!!! You feel like your flying. The only down side is the inability to walk the next 3 days. I'm going back next season and may even go in some races. Unfortunately, for you, there are no images of me in my Speed Skating get-up!!!! Let's just say I look pretty silly.

Kareoke:
I went to do some Kareoke with some friends. Beer at the push of button, pretzels, walnut cake, friends and some awesome song choices....what else does one need???????
The brave first song.....
Sing your little heart out!!!!
The time of my life......

Lovely Lyrics:

Our own little Sean Paul (who knew?): I was amazed!!!!!

it was fun!!!! very cathartic! must do it again!!!!!
I was unable to have my first Thursday of the month flu, cause I was called on it at work!!!!! So no Henri for me this past Wednesday! Fucking old bag teacher asked me if I had another doctors appointment, since it was the first Thursday of the month, right in front of my principal. I figured it would be better to skip this one and go when it was nearing the end of school and I would really want to go and have a good night of debotchery! It was their 1 year anniversary too!!!! there were balloons!!!! i love balloons!!!!
In other news I signed up for Slo-pitch this summer and inline speed skating to keep in shape for the ice season!!!! I'm expecting a lot of road rash!!!!!
That's all for now!
